Greensboro Elks “Be the Difference” with Down Syndrome Network

The Greensboro Elks Lodge was contacted by the Greater Greensboro Down Syndrome Network (GGDSN) to help support their annual fundraiser in October. After meeting with a GGDSN representative, we were proud to offer an in-kind sponsorship for their event.

Greensboro Lodge #602 assisted with the annual fundraiser walk by providing our DJs, Kevin Black and Keith Roberson, who brought great music and entertainment to the participants.

During our conversations with GGDSN, we discovered additional ways the Elks could continue to “Be the Difference” for this outstanding organization. We applied for a PER Grant to provide three $500 grants to families in need of medical assistance throughout the year. These funds will help with items such as replacement glasses, wheelchairs, and other medical necessities.

The GGDSN provides and supports services for people of all ages with Down Syndrome. We are excited about this opportunity to use these grant funds to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
