In Memoriam – Past State President Teddy Acton Sr. and Member Gladys Britt

Members and Guests,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of North Carolina Elks Past State President Teddy Acton Sr., who passed away on Sunday, December 21.

Brother Acton served as North Carolina State President during the 2014–2015 year and was a dedicated and active member of the Calabash Elks Lodge. His leadership, commitment, and service to the Order of Elks will be remembered and greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor at the Calabash Elks Lodge on Sunday, January 18, at 1:00 PM. The full obituary may be viewed at the link below:

Additionally, we regret to inform you of the passing of longtime member Gladys Britt of the Southern Pines Elks Lodge, who passed away on Saturday. At this time, no service arrangements have been announced. We will share additional information as it becomes available.

Please keep the Acton and Britt families, as well as their lodge brothers and sisters, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

“The faults of our members we write upon the sands; their virtues upon the tablets of love and memory.”

Fraternally, Steve Johnson, PDDGER NC Elks Communication Team
