Elks Drug Awareness Trailer on Display at Sanford Community Events
Over the weekend of October 24th and 25th, the Sanford Elks Lodge #1679 proudly participated in two local community events, showcasing our Elks Drug Awareness Program (DAP) Trailer and spreading our important message of prevention and education.
On Friday evening, we joined the Sheriff’s Truck or Treat event, which drew an estimated 2,500 attendees. Lodge members greeted families, handed out candy, and our DAP mascot, Elroy the Elk, made a fun appearance, helping engage children and families in learning about healthy choices.
On Saturday afternoon, we attended The Haven’s “No Scare Fair,” where we again handed out candy and Elroy delighted kids once more!
The Elks Drug Awareness Program (DAP) has been a cornerstone of our Lodge’s community outreach for decades. Through engaging activities, education, and outreach, DAP aims to empower youth and families to make safe, healthy choices and stay informed about the dangers of drug use.
A special thank you goes out to our Drug Awareness Chairman Randall Mattingly and his family, as well as one of our most active volunteers, Jason Scheller and his family, for their time and dedication in helping make these events a success.
We are proud to continue promoting the Elks’ mission of drug awareness and prevention and to make a positive impact in our community.
